Affordable Pathways to Net Zero and 100% Renewable Energy
Economically Sustainable Climate Action Across Society
Climatepeace promotes the practical and economically sustainable decarbonisation of society across electricity, heating and cooling, mobility and transport, buildings and industry. Its interests include energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, energy storage, sustainable aviation and maritime fuels, other sustainable fuels and sustainable fertilisers.
Climatepeace examines practical, affordable and economically sustainable pathways to mitigate climate change, including net-zero strategies and pathways towards 100% renewable energy systems, while safeguarding energy security, resilience and sustainable economic development.
Climatepeace promotes renewable-energy development across all scales—from residential rooftop and community energy solutions to utility-scale generation, storage and sustainable fuels. Its current project-origination work focuses on identifying and preliminarily screening land-based opportunities, initially for utility-scale solar photovoltaic generation and battery energy storage.
For land-based opportunities, Climatepeace considers key land, grid, planning, environmental, community and commercial factors to identify major constraints and determine whether an opportunity merits further investigation.
Where an opportunity appears promising, Climatepeace can help clarify the land position and bring together suitable early-stage investors, independent power producers and specialist partners. Climatepeace does not itself finance or construct projects. Its role and any participation are agreed separately in writing and may be structured on a success-based basis.
Press, Advocacy and Energy Insights
Climatepeace reports, analyses and comments on developments shaping the energy transition across South Africa, Europe and the wider world. Its coverage connects technologies, projects, markets and policy with the practical requirements of climate-change mitigation, energy security, resilience, affordability and sustainable economic growth.
Coverage includes renewable generation, energy storage, electrification, mobility, hydrogen economy, carbon capture, sustainable fuels and fertilisers, electricity markets, grid development, demand-side flexibility and other technologies supporting the transition towards progressively lower-carbon energy systems.
