Press, Advocacy and Energy Insights
Climatepeace reports, analyses and comments on developments shaping the energy transition across South Africa, Europe and the wider world. Its coverage connects technologies, projects, markets and policy with the practical requirements of climate-change mitigation, energy security, system resilience, affordability and sustainable economic development.
Coverage includes the decarbonisation of electricity, heating and cooling, mobility and transport, buildings and industry. Topics include utility-scale renewable generation, wind energy, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal energy, concentrated solar power, battery and long-duration storage, hydropower, bioenergy, biogas, waste-to-energy and emerging technologies.
Climatepeace also covers sustainable aviation and maritime fuels, hydrogen and its derivatives—including ammonia and methanol—sustainable fertilisers, Fischer–Tropsch technologies, carbon capture, utilisation and storage, electricity markets, grid and macro-grid development, virtual power plants, demand-side flexibility and emerging electricity demand.
Climatepeace supports a practical, staged transformation of coal-dependent and other fossil-fuel-based energy systems. Net zero represents the broader decarbonisation goal, while a 100% renewable energy system is one possible long-term pathway. Climatepeace considers all credible contributions to secure, resilient, affordable and progressively lower-carbon energy systems and does not automatically exclude nuclear energy from public discussion.
Climatepeace welcomes project announcements, research and policy briefings, requests for comment, interviews, press accreditation, event invitations and opportunities for informed collaboration.
